WHO ARE WE?

Morris is an old English type of dance. It is said that morrisdancing is rooted in the change of the seasons or even old pagan rituals. Morris is danced with sticks or handkerchiefs.

The Bean Setting Jacks is a morrisside of boys in the age of about 11 years. We all live in Zeist, near Utrecht in the Netherlands.
We started in 2002 with practising our first morrisdances. We gave our first show to an audience in 2004.

Logo Bean Setting Jacks Our emblem and our name are derived from the morrisdance "bean setting", the putting in the ground of the beans.

This was one of our first dances we learned and that we showed to an audience.

You see two morrisdancers with green jackets and morrissticks setting the beans while dancing. In the fertile ground the bean-stalk is growing straight up towards the sun.
